The mission of Glacier United is to provide a competitive
youth soccer league for motivated players in the North Valley area. This league emphasizes
a high level of individual skills, team play and sportsmanship. Age appropriate training
with quality coaching is fundamental to developing a quality experience for all
participants.
Glacier United plays their spring season from April through
mid-June. This league requires a serious time commitment from players and parents. Parent
participation is mandatory. Tryouts are held in October to select the players and the
teams for the following spring.
Tryouts usually are held twice over the period of 1-2 weeks and players must attend both
sessions. Coaches make their selections shortly following tryouts and teams are formed in
one or two year increments for girls and boys.
Indoor practices begin in January or February, at the coach's discretion, and are
generally held once a week. When the snow melts and fields are available, usually late
March, outdoor practice begins. Outdoor practice is generally held 2-3 times per week
until the end of the season. Two games are played most Saturdays during April and May,
with most requiring out of town travel.
